Angel-less

I dreamed
that
every human being
carries
a burned angel
on their back,
like a wing
that
no longer knows
toward
which heaven
to fly.

Then I understood:
it is not
we
who seek salvation,
but
salvation itself,
weary,
searching for us
through the ruins.
