Angelica

Angelica

By Gavri Hanita Hazaka Abir Selek 2nd

I saw you once, your beauty struck my eye,
I couldn’t stop looking at you I don’t know just why?,
The thoughts that flowed through my mind were kind,
It left my soul at peace to unwind,
The beauty of your smile, those lovely blue eyes,
“ If only you were interested in me.”, I thought with a sigh,
But I’m average looking, not much of a catch,
In your eyes I’d most likely be a wretch,
Yet in my thoughts and in my mind,
Your memory will linger on just fine,
For I’ve seen the face of an angel, so beautiful,
And it leaves my heart content and full,
I’ve imagined your name to be Angelica,
So I will never forget the angel I saw,
You will never know how I feel, I take rejection very hard,
I will only keep silent, so my heart will not be marred.
