Aneqdotes and True Lies
A lie in the middle :-
How many years' did you work in the coal mines lazy Roger ?
Reply ' Well 27 years and proud of it.
What about the 25 years you had off in the middle ? !
You can lead a horse to water but it does not mean it will drink
You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear
Too many cooks soil the broth
Count your fingers backwards. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 and five on the other hand makes
a total of 11 fingers . !
My father used to say :-
You can lead me with a silk thread but don't drive me with a stick.
