And So It Is With Love

Some love is like a quiet stream whose source is a mystery. Some love is like a river searching for the sea. Some love is like a peaceful lake reflecting serenity. Some love is like an angry sea pounding the shores of destiny. The freedom of the open sea is what the river seeks as it's joined by countless streams from lofty mountain peaks. And so it is, sometimes with love that goes on endlessly -- searching for a freedom it may, or may not ever, see. So, when I see a quiet stream or gaze upon the sea -- or stand beside a river -- I think of you and me. For, in this life, our love has been all the things above. It seems like we have seen it all -- and so it is, sometimes, with love

I love the comparisons in this poem, great imagery, too...I agree, love can be tranquil and calm, or unpredictable and destructive at times. But, if we can make it through the rough waves, we will be just fine. Fantastic poem, Jake!...Thank you very, very much for your great comments. I truly appreciate them, and I am speechless after reading them! :)

This is a good one. I'm really glad you mentioned it. Thanks for the comments on my "love is an ocean". That was my first poem I've written without rhyme...tough stuff haha :) So good to hear from you Jake!
