And I Hold You Near

And I hold you near,
they wonder if I care,
how I breathe my air...
I would love to answer.

What they all see in me
is loneliness to be,
somehow I'll find my light
and make each thought bright.

And now the warmest sun leaves my sky,
rainy clouds can tell why;
if this night clings to me,
no evening can keep you away from me...
when your love surrounds me.

And you hold me near,
each smile is joy to me,
you let me be so free
under a sky so clear.

Living is a mere breath,
but after having loved
love can survive death...
this I always believed.
