And For Our Next Trick

I read somewhere quite recently

that babies born that day might be

the very first to live forever.

How very clever.

And how long after that, I thought,

before the birth-rate must be nought

because the planet's been stacked high

with people who refuse to die?

Might our next great revolution

mean the end of Evolution?
