And Again Home
On heavy heels with beaten
backs we crawl our way back
home
A long day has damaged our
spirits
Yet we keep heart
Smiles long since faded begin
to again dance behind our eyes
Returning, finally
To a gay fireplace
To steaming potatos and
roasted meat
To hot cider
And a soft bed
And then we return
To tire ourselves again
And repeat the journey
With only comforts of home to
hope for
