The old Barlett Pear Trees have been loaded this year..Their fruit plentiful..I am no longer able to perserve them as I once did...

Sympathy. I asked the doctor whether I should be concerned about prostate. He said, "Mr. Austin, if prostate hasn't gotten to you by your age - 82 - don't worry about prostate. Something else will get you." I said, "Oh, thanks a lot, Doc." Love, daver

I can visualise this perfectly - the little apples on our trees are all over the ground now too, and covered in funny spots.

The pear trees can live a long time if they are pruned each winter to allow for new growth. The last line is so sad, Sara. What a shame these wonderful fruit trees can't produce year-round. Enjoyed your haiku! Love, Carolyn
