Anchored Thoughts

Like a body needs a head to start
So does a poem need a title smart
A title is like an anchor that holds it apart
Held down, keeping it steady right from the start
Till you flow into the middle of a poems heart
Into verses we need to compart
Every poem converts into works of art

Captivating from the start to engage
The title on top makes the spark rage
Words are like characters on stage
Emotions and feelings expressed on center page
The body flows with the framework of age
Releasing your thoughts locked up in a cage
As we read the title once more to re-engage.

Very true. I have had some fine poems ignored just because of an ill chosen title. Good luck with the contest.

Thanks Victor....I usually use words inside of the poems I write.
