An Unexpected Display of Nature's Beauty

An Unexpected Display of Nature’s Beauty

By Elton Camp

When the drive commenced, it was windy and wet
But suddenly there appeared an amazing sunset

Clear skies far off toward the west had just appeared
As the edge of the storm front from the area cleared

The remaining clouds were painted all pink and blue
And bare trees were silhouetted in fabulous ways, too

With each passing minute, the astonishing sight changed
As clouds and fading sunlight the spectacle rearranged

I drove on, privileged to have seen such a wonderful sight
As the approaching twilight gently gave way to the night

(To get the full effect, take a look at the photograph taken by my daughter on state highway 24 going west toward Russellville, Alabama.)
