An Old Friend Reborn

Orange sherbet-streaked heavens
   at my window this morn
herald an old friend's return
   ~ newly reborn

For while the sun
   in the sky has been
all this while, to my
   uninformed eye
slate-gray clouds
   made me cry...

Tears and clouds
   disperse suddenly
Now's returned
      My love
for this sweet world
      as it turns

When we see the sun in the morning, it truly does paint the day!

Hello Gershon … when the weather is dreary for some time we become dreary too. I can recall a time when it hadn't rained for three months, and when it finally did, standing in it with a great sense of relief - thanks Gershon - Lindsay

A beautiful sky with its many colors. Many do not look up and miss it. What a gift it is to us. Enjoy your day........

Seems I am not the only one who witnesses beautiful sunrises from time to time, but you express it so much more beautifully than I ever could. Loved this one my friend.

What you wrote about me is precisely how I feel about you and your poems. We must be trapped in a House of Mirrors! Cheers, Chris! :) Gershon

Chicago gets to see our old friend tomorrow morning and then it's back to cloud cover, I'm told. Here's to better luck for PA. Cheers, Gershon

My love for our country's beauty made me say, "Yes! Yes!" while reading your poem. Beautiful, Gershon! Love the ending.
