An Ode To Loneliness

An Ode To Loneliness
				        By Alona Perlin

Why am I so frightened
Why am I so scared
Because life's unknown journeys
Left me Unaware

Emptiness inside me
For a long time there shall be
Till I find my purpose
My soul then shall be free

I have sought for hours
I have sought for years
For others to join me
And relieve my fears

But I found that sometimes
Loneliness can be crass
We are around others
But lonely nevertheless

What we need to gather
What we need to learn
Is that we're there for each other
At each and every turn

And if you don't find that person
That can make you feel you're loved
Take heart in the knowledge
That you are then enough
