An Idiom in the Flesh
You’ll never believe this,
But truth you are owed –
This morning I noticed
A fork in the road.
Well, technically, just
The top half of a fork,
Yet still a strange sight
On a street in New York.
‘Twas made of white plastic,
Quite easy to break it.
Since I couldn’t use it,
I chose not to take it.
