An Ex Ation

Not accepting that it was over, That I’d found a kinder lover You came to stand outside my house Shouting out your foul abuse, Your ultimatums and your threat You said I would regret, That our sons were yours by right, That you were prepared to fight. Then one night at some late hour Drunk with your own power You came and forced my door Thinking that like before I’d give in to your “charms” And fall into your open arms, Never dreaming that your persistence Might be met with armed resistance. So, you bombarded me with your lies, Demanding ‘compromise’. In truth, at the end of the day, You just wanted your own way, And while I resisted best I could You simply raped me where I stood. But though you conquered every part of me You never gained the heart of me. So, sip carefully, dear, each cup of tea If ever it is made by me.
