An Equal

He's gone
And life goes on,

Hungover from the excitement
of getting to know someone new
Someone who is now in clear view,

A kind and honest soul
Who is never without a bowl,

Of Bran Flakes
AM and PM,

Fueled by every fiber
of his being so respectful,

An equal

Now to focus on me
And where I need to be,

The life admin I have neglected
Piling higher than expected,

Patience is a virtue they say
No one mentions the struggle of the day to day,

Adjusting to a life without constant affection
Only slow internet connection,

But I have a good feeling about this one
And what we could become,

Until now it seemed impossible to find an equal
Someone who makes me feel whole,

I guess I have to wait for the sequel
With this boy and his bowl.
