Notes About The Poem
This represents a perfect summer evening until late night during a my typical weekday. Hubbie is not in the picture because he is working graveyard during the work week, so this is how I love spending my time alone!

An Enjoyable Summer Eve

on my deck I watch
shadows crisscross sun’s last rays. . . .
my skin still feels warm

driving from the gym
seeing the mountains darkened. . . .
thinking of supper

the house is quiet
I savor all the morsels
of my peaceful meal

At my computer
I click on my friends' poems. . . .
night time’s joy fills me

Time is getting late
From my bed I watch TV. . . .
moon peers through the blinds

curled up by my cats
as my eyelids grow heavy. . . .
slumber land - take me

Andrea, I like the way you describe the mountains darkening and thinking of enjoying a meal at home. This sounds like your routine -- gettting on the computer, watching TV and curling up with your cats. Lovely senryus for Francine's contest! Love, carolyn

I am envious of your last stanza Andrea. I miss my kitty so much. My daughter who has him got another cat named Mia who is about 6 mos. old and now Tommy is playing with her as if he were a kitten too. Relaxing poem.
