An End Foretold

A woman who knows her heart 
met a man who knows his guard 

She was eager, burning,
Almost fervid 

He was hesitant, cautious, 
Almost pallid 

She took a step towards 
He took ten back 

Her lens was pink 
His lens was black 

She wanted to hold on
He decided to discard 

A woman who knows her heart 
Met a man who knows his guard...
