An Empty Tomb In Jerusalem
“ 1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!” Acts 20:1-2 NIV
There’s An Empty Tomb in Jerusalem,
Where Christ slept for three days;
Then was resurrected—
His Father above to highly praise.
He slept upon the Sabbath,
Until that Sunday morn,
But arose early in the day;
When victory over evil was born.
That empty tomb’s a reminder
That Christ is living now;
Resurrected from the dead—
By His Father’s power to endow.
He’s the only religious leader
To leave an empty grave;
All other religions are ‘works’;
Useless hope of heaven to crave.
That empty tomb is precious,
Because it is a sign—
Of the fact that evil’s conquered,
And very soon will be benign.
Man is given victory—
Over sin and over death.
Through the righteousness of Christ,
Each soul finds heaven’s hearth.
That empty tomb’s a mystery
That only God comprehends;
A reminder of His love,
And the mercy that He sends.
Because He truly loves us,
He found a way to recall—
All His righteous children;
A heavenward journey to enrol.
