An Empty Canvas

Distant sounds of silence
Fill my hollow dreams
Nothing seems to matter
For nothing's how it seems

Just an empty canvas
Without a painters hand
An empty broken vessel
Alone, upon its stand

Lost without direction
A tired and weary soul
Cursed to wander aimlessly
With no clear path to go

Void of all emotion
Not knowing right or wrong
Hopelessly abandoned
With no one to belong

Reprobate of judgement
My soul laid down and cried
Destined to never love again
Without you by my side

Well... what a heartbreaking write. You left me speechless for a moment. And how you could take something that would seem to be just a simple blank canvas and turn it into that. Wonderful.

Wow, Larry, I'm feeling just like that "empty canvas" now. How did you know? I was deeply touched by this poem. Soup Mail in a moment. Love, Carolyn
