An Apple a Day
AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS THE DOCTOR AWAY
An apple a day keeps the doctor away,
So my mother believed.
For, if it rhymes, it must be true.
But I think she was deceived.
The benefit of an apple,
Is not all it appears.
Snow White only took one bite
And slept for a hundred years.
When the apple fell on Newton’s head,
It started a great discussion.
It gave him the theory of gravity.
But it also gave him concussion.
So, beware of the humble apple.
It might be all right inside.
But be sure to wash it carefully;
It’s been sprayed with insecticide.
