Dan was a beautiful person who would donate much of his time to special needs children. He was the type of person who would do anything for just about anyone. He was very well liked in our area. The amazing story of Dan is that he was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer over ten years ago. He has battled it ever since. About two years ago Dan had an old guitar that he wanted to get tuned up so that his son can play it. Dan never played he purchased the guitar in a garage sale some fifteen years ago. He brought the guitar to a friend of ours who is the lead singer and guitarist of a very good local band from our area. The guy said to him of course I will, but how come you don't play. Dan said, I have tried and being that I am ill, there is no way I have time to learn, I just don't have the strength. Well, the lead guitarist says to him "nonsense, I can teach you if you want" So, Dan agreed. To make a long story short, Dan learned how to play and became good enough that the band had made him an official member. He also learned to play the harmonica and bongo's, and he found out thta he can also sing. This all happened at the age of 62 years old.(Amazing). Dan played with the band for almost two years before his strenght just gave in. I saw him playing just two weeks ago before I heard of his passing yesterday. His favorite song was "Ring of Fire" and Johnny Cash himself would have been proud of Dan for the way he sang it. He will be missed by many...R.I.P. (DanO) Dan Osborne
