An Angel Came For Mother

AN ANGEL CAME FOR MOTHER An angel came for Mother, she’s on another shore, And you know you will miss her till you see her once more. The memories will come often as your life will go on; You’ll think about her fondly and the place where she has gone. You’re sure her suffering’s over, and though you’re now alone With Mom not there to love you, still her love seeds have sown There deep within the soil of your aching, moistened heart A fragrant flower now growing, and soon its buds will start. Then you will take that flower that her love in you grew To place it on her grave site and say, “Mom, I love you.” And then that special angel will let her then look down To where you placed that flower upon that plot of ground And let your mother see that your love for her lives on And you know soon you’ll join her in the land where she has gone. So as you spend these moments with all your memories, Be sure that God, too, knows them, and every teardrop sees. He’ll use those many teardrops to help new flowers grow And when they finish blooming and all their fragrance flows He’ll take them and return them there in your heart to live And bring to you a comfort that only He can give.
