An Afterthought

January third; almost an afterthought The post Christmas and New Year sort My thoughts are with you, in heaven above At the right hand of the Father, Son and Dove This world has changed too much We are connected but out of touch What would you feel, about how we live? Pretending, we have no time to give We are on our gadgets these days No time to catch the sun's rays No card, no gift again this year That you will be hurt, I have no fear It is your birthday, Mother dear How I wish you could be near I would have bought you a pen this time To grade the quality of my love of rhyme
