An Accidental Delete

You sit around trying to find.
A way to share what's on your mind.
And then a title for a poem.
Comes in in hopes to find a home.

You cue the page to write it down.
But in the end it's just a frown.
You leave the page to check a word.
Then click, it's all just too absurd.

You've accidentally hit a key.
That erases all that you could see.
A poem that was not far from done.
Will not be seen by anyone.

If I'm going to be honest here.
I got more pissed than shed a tear.
But computer erasers are just too good.
They do what your fingers say they should.

So now I ask what can you do?
To avoid this just before you're through.
Spending your time and energy.
On something no one will ever see.

P.S. I just typed a poem before this one and went to dictionary to look up a word and hit the x instead of the arrow to return to the submit page. :/ Oh well, Whatta Ya' Gonna Do Huh? But write a poem about it. :) <3 The category I listed it under? Assonance. :)

This happens to me often! Sad thing is I never make a back up copy. When I try to write the poem again it never seems the same!

Yep. :) I liken it to when I write an amazing poem in my head at 4:00 in the morning laying in bed half asleep. They're just out there floating in the stratosphere somewhere in the morning mist. Nice you stopped by One. :) <3

gosh, I just did this the other day but lost a long email to someone. I asked someone at my school if I could retrieve it and she said Control X or Z. Something like that. Try it next time and see if it works. I need a handbook of controls to look at for all my blunders. Good one, Les. I will get to my emails tomorrow.

Thanks for the possible resolve Andrea. I'll have to google and see if there is some more info on that. <3
