American Soldier
I’m the person you don’t seUnless you’re a devoted spouse, son, or daughter.
I’m the one who sacrifices my familys’ happiness,
For your familys’ peace of mind.
I’m the heart and soul of some military unit,
Whose name you hear on the news.
The same one who gives you the freedom to choose.
The freedoms of speech, religion, and expression,
Are all possible because I care enough to pay attention.
Even on those days when you are resting,
I am still here training, and testing.
So tonight while you watch the news,
With the freedom to think what you will.
Remember me, in a far away land,
Fighting for the security you feel.
All because I am here, there, and everywhere.
I am an American Soldier.
