American
American
I'm proud to be an American.
It's an honor to belong to a country fought for by brave men and women.
They brought here the how, where, and when.
Each time our country called, they were on the front lines again.
Or they had the inspiration like Francis Scott Key to pick up
an old piece of paper and an old fashioned pen.
It was the Star Spangled Banner
that inspired history's greatest
anthem of manner.
The rhyme that has withstood the test of time.
The pride in such valor that has so often been mine.
The admiration that runs so far and wide.
The determination that enables that perfect pride.
It's the simplest of things
that the greatest of pleasure brings.
The vast privileges taken for granted
from where the beginning seeds of life were planted
that freedom truly rings.
It is tiny pleasures like these
that remind me of the beauty of
The Home of the Brave & The Land of The Free.
