America

Say a little prayer for Me
From sea to shining sea
For though I am still free
I'm not quite feeling like the old Me

I was strong and lead the way
I made sure you had your say
We rejoiced in a new day
Then politics came into play

From the unborn, to prayer in public place
They began to dismantle My Face
Taking from Me all Gods Grace
As for more I brace

I can not do this alone
For His Light on Me has shown
Yes, we have grown
But just listen to Our tone

Denying the Lord above His Praise
Is a common theme now a days
So as He does look down and Gaze
He knows that this is not a phase

So say a little prayer for the free
From sea to shining sea
That Gods Will will again be
And I'll get back to feeling like the old Me

Hello Vicente, .I much admire you work.. I have read a few in the past, but, move on when I don't hear from poets. You are a true poet, and write from the soul. Love the way the light is wielding your words in hopes beauty and grace will help you breath again... Love the ending breaking beauty of YOU.. .soft and intoxicating praising imagery here... Thank you for your 2 latest comments... I hope you enjoy my newest poem... WALLPAPER when you have the time... always~ LINDA
