America

America

Land of the free
Home of the brave
Sometimes it deceives
Sometimes can amaze

Land of the free
Or Home of the crazed
Is truth important
Or do you live in a haze
People are dying
But the leaders don’t care
They make pretty speeches
But their actions lay bare

JFK and Martin Luther King
Larger than life
But can no longer bring
Truth to a nation
That was built on a dream
That all men are equal
But that just makes me scream

A people so proud
Of it’s Anthem and flag
Surrounded by government
Who’s ass’s are dragged

Helps other countries
In their hours of need
But won’t help their own
To grow and succeed

A gun can be bought
At your local store
The American dream ?
Do people want more
God bless America
And all who live there
Politicians favourite line
But do think that they care ?

Things that amaze me
About the United States
It's people’s belief in it
Never seems to abate
Preachers on TV
Who preach the good word
Living like rockstars
Now that’s just absurd

Sport stars are treated
Like they’re some kind of God
For playing a game
On hardwood or sod

Bankers and financers
You seem to regale
When some of their asses
Should probably be jailed

But God bless America
And the American dream
For those in glass houses
Should be quiet
And not seen
