Ambition Relented
Impossibly high mountain peaks hung over head
humbled egos gave way to bigger dreams
so it seemed, but never thoughts of victorious laurels
Were so impossible we didnt wet our lips for sweeter wine
This sky so vast we may never know its grasp
but come full ready to chance a stab at this task
Ambition relented with excuses abound
Age brings apprehension, not just wisdom
wisdom never a suit of card in your hand
A self wrought ceiling to suffocate flying
but hopes dying in that vastness we refuse to know
