Amazing Mona
Put together Mona had a flash and a flair.
She designed her own clothes, and they were unique.
None of the rest of us would have tried.
But she was daringly outrageous, and it always turned out.
She has the confidence of twenty, someone said.
I knew she had mine, and I could point out twelve others.
We were in awe, staring at the way she twirled about.
Showing us up without trying, for she had a kind heart.
She sometimes came to our parties and dressed us up.
We loved it, but we could not have left the house like that.
We are small town girls with minds that are full of absolutes.
We watched her from afar though, amazed and intrigued
by her boldness, and her ability to turn herself into amazing.
