Am Waldrand / At Forest's Fringe

Als ich Krokusse pflückte
im 1. Jahr,
waren meine Gedanken so sonderbar.
Ich schaute zum Himmel ohne Scheu
und suchte nach Äpfeln im Wiesenheu.
Spazierte dann durch den
schon dämmrigen Wald
und plötzlich kam Wind auf,
es wurde mir kalt.
Ein Reh schaute von ferne zu mir,
ein wirklich schönes so edles Tier.
Dann ging ich nach Hause
mit schnellem Schritt,
fand am Wegrand auch noch Pilze
und nahm sie mit.

----------------------------------------

When I picked crocuses
in 2001,
my thoughts were strange,
some memories gone.
I looked to the sky
without being shy
and looked for apples and hay.
I crossed the forest,
the air was still warm,
but sudden cold winds
brought me shiver and
turned into storm.
A deer looked at me
from its shelter behind.
I did not disturb it
and returned back home.
found even some mushrooms
of different kind.

I love this small capsule in time....It feels as if I had been in this peaceful place..eye to eye with the deer, a crocus in my hand. Lovely poem,....such a peace about it. Love, Carrie You are so kind with your comments...I am very grateful ! Thank you!
