Alzheimer's Parody

her mask unchanging
rippling reality stints
despair’s fiery pits

sanity tilted
crust layered with razor blades
echo touched voices

opposites control
revolving kaleidoscope
serene destruction

sketchy shadow paths
Alzheimer’s parody stains
fog filled memories

A terrible disease indeed - rippling reality is the perfect description. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Janet, nice to know you. A great poetic description of the downfall of the mind, especially "serene destruction" which connotates to me as a slow breaking down down of the memory bank. My compliments.

This is so sad Janet. It must be horrible to have that. It hurts to watch a loved one sink slowly into helpless oblivion. God Bless, JB

this set surely gives us the impression of that terrible disease, Janet. Very interesting way to express feelings about it with these senryu. Clever!

Thank you. Several of my friends asked me if I wrote any poems about dealing with mom. At that point, I hadn't but I have gradually dealt with it in words. Again Thanks. Janet

Well written. I especially like your verse: "opposites control revolving kaleidoscope serene destruction"
