Always My Love

A shadow covers her face, eyes tired with sorrow.
Lost beyond space, longing for tomorrow.
A broken heart, and a shattered mind.
Where to start, what’s to find?
A promise of hope, rings echoing for ages.
His yearning to elope, through tears he wages.
Her fingers clasp his, and a desire remains.
A plan as is, though it still pains.
A beloved friend in need, a voice to be heard.
A faith planted seed, holding to the word.
An apologetic reply, he feels a need to die.
He broke a promise, he broke a soul.
With another kiss, he tries to remain whole.
She is determined and true, a beauty I adore.
As she says, “I love you”, he’s left wanting more.
Memories of cheerfulness, and passions of youth.
A future of fearfulness, searching for truth.
He watches the night sky, hoping she is too.
A solemn goodbye, “For I’ve always loved you.”
The future is a wonder, though they blissfully wait.
Love strikes like thunder, a most welcomed fate.
Stars dance and play, the world left in awe.
As he looks to her and says,
“I gcónaí, mo ghrá”

There is a great sense of love here. You really paint a picture with your words. What is meant by “I gcónaí, mo ghrá”?

Thank you, I love hearing this especially about this one. “I gcónaí, mo ghrá” means Always, my love in the Irish language.
