Always Asking

No monster - just a shining star that beats within an hour Undiluted. Unrepentant Sweet with pungent power A breath of life pulsating with passion and fine sin Knowing questions always beckon and answers rarely win Truth can gnaw the stomach; might blind us from the good And common sense could starve us of the blinkers of falsehood Never doubt, as the narrator that angels can mean strife Trust in silence above humanity for a braver kind of life Yet, to be human is a blessing helps undress the dark abyss To choose not to be a monster is a bitter-tasting bliss
