Alternate Reality

This scream is building on my tongue. These demons clawing at my throat. The fire filling up my lungs. The darkness suffocating my thoughts. I need an alternate reality. An escape from my fears. A way to breathe I'm smiling for you, 'Cuz you've trained me so well. I'm laughing instead of crying. Though i'm crawling out of my skin. I'm going blind with this pain. The pain you want me to hide, To keep contained. Time to change this up. So with a smile on my face, and confidence in my eyes. I enter my alternate reality And let my life explode Let my sweet defeat surround you, With the lies I built for you. I'm not who you saw You wouldn't let me be her You wanted me without flaw. But that was never me. You never knew me. Never had me.
