Alter Ego

Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Alter Ego
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: July1986

Today
I've made
the
conscious choice
to
let you go -

The strangle hold
that
you once had on me,
was
blood to my soul -

I was hypnotized
by
your presence,
and
mysterious ways -

I Didn't
have a clue,

that

it was
my alter ego
in
disguise-

You cloned
me,

I fell
under your spell -

I remember
when

I would walk
through
fire for you -

and
feel no pain.

But,

When
you appear

I'm
not the same -

So
The
Good Lord, came
to
the rescue-

Today, I've made
the
conscious choice
to
let you go -

I chose
something Devine-

I am strong
now.

Stronger than ever
before -

My
strength, shook me
from
the coma

that
was distant
to
kill me -

I give praises
to
The Almighty,

I am
no longer
under your spell.

Today I've made
the
conscious choice
to
let you go -

Ken, that is deep, I wonder if you made the choice because that is best. Or are you too brave. No matter I super love the poem. LINDA

Hello Destroyer A, thank you for your comment, I appreciate you stopping by. Well, I think that we all wear a mask, we wear it at work, at fancy restaurants, when we meet new people. I think that we all have alters, but who are we really? Always Ken
