Alpha To Omega

Here I am in this abyss
waiting while I dream of this
I'm going to Vegas, Vegas
as soon as i finally leave this place
but I know that I must leave a trace

My brief sojourn from my mothers milk
then I'll have to grow up
and deal with the ilk of good times and bad
learning to speak to be happy and sad
later a teen then a woman
then marriage with child to further their aims
to grow old gracefully
pick up my cane and take a plane
I'm going to Vegas, Vegas
and place my bet
before its time to leave this earth

Like this poem! A very different and creative way of looking at Vegas.

Hi Carolina: Thank you for noticing. Life and death in the fast lane (ha ha ). I look forward to reading your poetry, old and new.

I was in Vegas late last year. I'm not much of a gambler but I love walking around and seeing the sites. I enjoyed your poem.
