Alpha

Title:ALPHA
Poet:Mizdee aka bossdiva

I come from a land
where men are gods
and do no wrong
But to exist, a crime, as a woman

In my land
pundits abound, in all sizes
but a woman must be
a face without a voice

A land:
where men are groomed to lead
but a trimmed woman, like chameleon
must blend into the shades of his glory

In marital union
when conflicts arise
The alpha in him emerges
vanquisher of 'demons' that give her voice

Ever-changing times adorn him in a cloak of civilization
underneath beats the heart of a savage
left to chance
He'll seal her lips with padlock

Equally created, were they both
by the giver of life
to love, to cherish, to respect
but a corrupt seed was sown

Nevertheless:
On the dawn of truth,
a liberated woman will awake
to unlearn each dark lie
and speak, to the ears of the world...

I grew up watching my every woman that meant something to me being mistreated by their husbands and when the matter is been judged by the same hypocritical 'heads' of the family, the man is never found guilty. Females have been fed with lies that it is okay to be abused both physically and verbally and it has become a norm, but if I am the only woman that sees through the facade and lies, I am happy to single-handedly stand alone against domestic violence and abuse.
