Aloof
Shoddy attire with a slow gait,
Unkempt hair and unshaven face,
Express my depressed state.
Before the fall they did me berate;
My self-confidence reduced to waste.
So, I dress shoddily and slow gait.
My body odour permeates
Because I do not bathe,
Express my depressed state.
The dumpster serves my taste.
On streets, I beg, ‘spare change!’
In shoddy attire with a slow gait.
Tragic they say, ‘a living disgrace!’
I stay aloof since I quit the race
And don’t explain my depressed state.
I’m not lazy, I’m debased
And accept my fate.
Shoddy attire with a slow gait,
Express my depressed state.
