Along For the Ride
It's been awhile since I've had a car.
Which explains why I don't go very far.
I don't get around much these days.
The more I sit, the more I laze.
It's been awhile since I've had a car.
And now I don't drink as much at the bar.
The law man says, well, that's a good thing.
His humble duty must remain king.
I travel these days by foot and by bike.
By either means, it's quite a hike.
It's interesting what you see when you walk.
But your conscience reminds you, not to gawk.
My soles and tires, they surely will wear.
To get me from my door to over there.
I mend them with rubber and glue and tape.
It's not hard to see, they're in pretty bad shape.
So I'm just on earth along for the ride.
Looking for someone to walk by my side.
And if I'm lucky, I'll find her someday..
With love in our hearts, we'll both find our way.
