Alone With Christ

When all alone at night I sit,
and near the dawn comes creeping;
I sit, just God, my thoughts and me,
while other folks lie sleeping.

I know that some don't understand
how I get blessed from writing;
But in this battle for the lost,
there's different ways of fighting.

I always pray to be inspired,
that through God, I might feed
A thought or word of comfort
to that one who might have need.

If I should ever stop and think
about lost sleep since I began,
I'd count it very much worthwhile,
just to see one born again.

So, when the Day of Judgment comes,
on that day shall I take my rest,
Knowing I've done the will of God,
I've not given Him less than my best.
