Alone On a Train

At every stop I see them wave Their teary-eyed good byes A final glance, they climb the steps And find a seat inside. And there they sit in separate worlds Their faces to the glass The rhythmic humming of the rails As lonely hours pass. If only in this world We were less perfect fools If only I could face My own small face If only you were on this train Beside me Perhaps I would be bound someplace.
