As I missed the original contest, I am thankful for a few poets who let me know I could just find the picture with their poems they wrote on this same picture. Here is the beautiful picture my poem is based on:]

With waves of gold locks falling down around her shoulders prettily, a woman sits in a silk gown. Alone is she beside the sea. Deep longing in her starts to stir. She sits, arms round bent knees as she recalls his arms enwrapping her. Alone is she beside the sea. Out to the horizon, gazing, she thinks of every memory of him with her - so amazing! Alone is she beside the sea. As sure as she is that the tide will rise, then fall, she knows that he will never more be at her side. Alone is she beside the sea.

This is lovely, Dre. It's perfect just the way it is but with that melancholy key line, I think it would also make a cool Quatern. Congrats on your win! LyLy xoxo

Hmm, I tried it that way in my head but it does not work out in stanza three to do quatern. i also really dig that form as well. Glad you know about it.

Lovely verse Andrea, I just managed to get in before it closed. I think we all captured her thoughts well. RE the pic, in my woman on the beach poem poem you'll find it and can copy it from there. Tom.

I did not get it in on time. I fell asleep working on it last night and awoke to find the contest vanished. I can't even find the lovely picture to put with it but will enter it in Brian's contest and cross my fingers.

You painted that picture nicely in your words Andrea. The repeating line captures the essence. Best for a win.

The rhythmic blue beauty of your amazing poem rises and falls like sad ocean swells, Andrea. Her lost love melancholy is enlivened with gorgeous wistful imagery. Superb in every way and love the form! Warmest wishes always.. ~Susan
