Alone In the Rain
The glowing embers of disdain
The silent comfort within the rain
An angry protest from our hearts
And we forget just who we are
Am I broken from this war?
Am I wounded forever more?
Does my hope express desire?
Or do my actions feed the fire?
Feeding on the burning webs
Draining life as though we’re dead
We’re running further from where we cry
Where everything is built from lies
Is this truly where I stand?
If there is truth, where is its hand?
Can I really escape their eyes?
The parts that know that I’m a lie
Glowing embers, distant rain
They spiral further, expressing pain
Part denial, part disguise
They’re sinking deeper into fire
All alone, I’m all that’s left
I have survived the fire’s breath
All alone, acceptance came
I’m all that’s left, out in the rain
