Alone In the Darkness

Inspired by Colin Amato's "Lonely in the Darkness"

--

Alone in the darkness,
Kept away from all sight,
No energy left to continue this fight.

Alone in the darkness,
Comfortable in my own home,
Until comfort leaves me as I lay here alone.

Alone in the darkness,
Darker than the night sky,
Foggier than the mist surrounding my mind.

Alone in the darkness,
In the hearts of those I love,
Yet left alone, shoved away forever.

Confusion flogs me,
Delusion boggles me,
Vision hindered until I can't see
Except for what I know:
That the darkness dwells inside of me.

In a quiet, yet stormy state,
In a warm, yet unpleasant place,
I still lay here,

Alone in the Darkness.
