Alone Awake At Night

The heavy breathing
Started at 2.00 am
I woke because of it
There was nothing else

Except the heavy breathing
But it wasn’t me
And I will lie and wait
To see if it stops

The night is endless
And all there is
Is the heavy breathing
It goes on and on.
