Alone

Hour after hour I sit and stare,
if someone passed me by I'd be unaware.
People talking...their words unclear,
like faces in an empty mirror.

Time stands still...
the days come and go...
the lights gone out...
there's no one home.

When I'm in a crowd...I feel alone,
I search for truth in the great unknown.
What reason could one really give...
as to why you didn't choose to live.

Time stands still...
the days come and go...
the lights gone out...
there's no one home.

Was it me? Am I to blame?
I live it over frame by frame.
If I'd this...or if I'd that,
would the chair be empty where you once sat?

Time stands still...
the days come and go...
the lights gone out...
there's no one home.
