Alone

What's my life about I wonder in these days
Living by myself, my family far away
No one knows my feelings, the anguish or despair
That I feel throughout the long nights with no one here to care
I can hear their voices now "self pity" hard they cry
Leave him he'll come round say the nosy one's that pry
And so it seems that I must try to help myself
For as stranger in where ere I be no friends or family dwell
Now I stand here all alone and must cast the doubts away
Whilst thinking about my loved one's as the sun brings another day

Such a deep sense of longing and of not belonging but with the internet and skype family are never too far away from us even though in reality distance may really keep us apart:-) Hugs jan xxx

Enjoyed your write, David, I hear the sorrow in this poem. I have a son that separated himself from all his family and his children a couple of years after he got out of the service. My thoughts and love are always there with him and wonder how lonely he is. Blessings
