Alone

I catch your eye in this crowded place, I can tell what you want by the look on your face. You make your way over, through the crowd, You speak in my ear but the music is too loud. You pull me away and lead me to the deserted porch, Where you tell me my flame has lit up your torch. You whisper more sweet nothings in my ears, You call me babe, honey, sweetie and dear. I see where this is going and it's going too fast. I know all about your shady past. It was fun for a while but now it's time to go. You beg me to stay, you say you love me so. I laugh and say we have no chemistry, That's when you snap and say you need me. You grab my wrist and pull me away, Say that I will have to pay. You brought me to a dark, deserted alley, Where you continued to kiss and force yourself on me. Maybe if I hadn't had so much to drink I could push you away, And realize that it wasn't a good idea to stay. Afterwards, I stumbled home with torn clothes and a black eye, I locked myself in the bathroom so that I could cry. I stayed there for what seemed like years, And cried until there were no more tears. I wish there was someone here to comfort me; Hold me and tell me they loved me. Instead I am here all by myself, So I reach over and take some pills from the shelf. I swallow them all and I wait to die. I go lay in bed and wonder why. This isn't the first time I've been taken advantage of, While selfishly thinking I could find love. Now I'm drifting away, so close to sleep, There is no hope left for me to keep. I'm going to a place free of heartaches and pains. The darkness is here, only silence remains.
