Alone

Sometimes I wish I were religious
So I didn't feel so small
I'd probably even pray my case
If i thought it'd help at all

alone amongst the chaos
It would be good to have a friend
Someone who sees my highs and lows
And gives forgiveness in the end

Maybe, I do believe in something
But what? I couldn’t know
Sometimes, I have a feeling
As if someone wants to show

Be it fiery sunsets
Or lilac's purple scent
And although I know the science
it could be benevolent

Maybe a reward
Just for my own delight
To remind me not to feel alone
In this lonely life
